As much as I detest Manolilto right now, I think it's great that CF has shown just how close to the darkness the males are. It's a good "insight" into their psyche...LOL

It's funny...I really really like the De La Cruz Brothers. I don't know why, but Dark Secret is one of my favorite stories. It's so torn apart from me re-reading it, pages are falling out. Then again, I really liked the fact that I could relate with Colby since she's a ranch girl, too. But it wasn't just Colby. I really liked Rafael, lol. RE: Manolito: What he did with MaryAnn was wrong, especially without her knowing what he was doing and--like the first chapter of DP said--taking a part of her soul with him, but I can't get myself to be mad at him. Maybe because I'm so biased that I feel like the Carpathians can do no wrong, hehehe. But I think that that part of the storyline will add a very good part to DP. Part of the reason that I'm really looking forward to this book is because MaryAnn is black and I can relate. Christine has really earned my respect by doing this book with her, and a full-length one too! ---And I don't think we have to worry about the De La Cruz forceful seduction problem...I have no doubt that MaryAnn will put him in his place. There's going to be a major clashing of wills with these two . And the way I look at it...wouldn't you just love to have a Carpathian sneak into your house and take your blood like Manolito did? I'd be mad that he didn't let me remember it!

you know in a way i can't really blame him either. Since Gergori did the same thing in a way by making sure that Savannah would be his. Man in a way is just doing what he has to to protect his people as well as his family. Since he knows that he will never harm MaryAnn making sure part of her is with him isn't such a bad thing. It is just helping him buy more time that he doesn't have.

I agree with Vodka, Dimitri established a blood bond with Skyler just like Manolito did with MaryAnn but no one's saying anything bad about him. All Manolito did was have a way to find MaryAnn and being to talk to her, he didn't hurt her or anything like that. Also think about it this way: Mano needed to have some sort of contact with MaryAnn until he claimed her, and preserve his soul until that could happen. All he was doing was giving himself a strong enough bond with her to help him and all those around him. That bond will remind him that he now has something to live for.

Redstar now that you put it that way I can almost see the pain he is going to feel for doing that .... just like gregori did when he felt that he manilipulated his outcome with Savannah...so it will make for another interesting read by CF.... gotta love that.

I think it's great MaryAnn will be around in the coming centuries. Since some of the future lifemates may have been abused like Destiny, Syndil, or Skyler, MaryAnn, along with their lifemates, can provide counseling to help them settle into Carpathian society. That will make MaryAnn very vaulable to her kin.

Seriously. And to Rusti, too. MaryAnn will be almost as helpful as Syndil--okay, not almost, but kind of close--I imagine she'll be one of those Carpathians that is appointed some official status, kind of like Syndil now helps with the birthing of children so everyone goes to her for that...people will go to MaryAnn for a certain kind of help too. Does that make sense? I just got back from a family reunion in LA and I'm out of it, lol. I get the feeling that MaryAnn is going to be someone very important to the Carpathian race. Not in the same way as the Dragon Seekers, but something...
