Myrrha, you make a very good point. Since lifemates are two halves of one soul, it does make sense they would share similar traits, that would be individualily shown. Dimitri&Skyler(loners who both have a connection with wolves), Dayan&Corinne(Muscians and music writers), Falcon&Sara(both are really good with children), Julian&Desari(both fun-loving and mischivious), and Gregori&Savannah(Both are so different, they are exactly alike). I have heard that when a couple has similer interests, they have a greater chance of staying together. And I agree, I see Nic getting his book next.

Ladz, I have no idea who's getting the next book! I KNOW who I would like! Well him being Dominic!! (oh la lalaaaa)! but I'm biased to green eyed, tall, broad shouldered, hunter, strong, manly Carp.'s!
I'll consult my crystals tonight and get back to ye!
I agree wilth Redstar, lifemates would share similar traits. It would make more sense for Tiberiu to be a lifemate to one of the lost Dragonseeker aunts as they both have been cut off from the world so to speak. I just reckon, if he was lifemate to one of Gregori's 'girls' it would be hilarious LMAO! could you imagine a more over-protective dad? (and I have one believe me!)
humm what else..need to re-read DPO actually - sped read it so fast missed out bits on Nic!
Night all
PS WHERE'S SKLYERS AND DIMITRIS BOOK!! (awahhhhhh *sniff*)

Oh yeah, Gregori would take the cake in the overprotective dad prize. But something tells he'll have his hands full with his little girls, as will their lifemates. LOL If you trick your Daddy, the Dark One, while your still in the womb, you can handle any Carpathian male. Personally, I think his daughters will be the next Warrior Twins of the Daratrazanoff Family. Of course, they may not even have to battle the vampires, they could just say who their father is, and their enemies would save them the trouble and just drop dead, knowing if they laid one mark on those girls, Gregori would come down on them with the fury of Hell!!! ;D ;D ;D

Kudos to you girls..... you have really put some thought into the whos and whats of these books.... I mean, I have read them all except Dark Hunger, but I get the jist of it...
and wow.... yeah...poor girls... to have Gregori as a dad... I mean to have him as a lifemate would be a wonderful thing --as he is my fav carpathian, however to have him as a father....*shudders at thought*....
as to guess who goes with who.... in the books to come... we can only guess at what CF has up her sleeve... and it is always wonderful...
I was glad this book took a slight twist... and I had also heard of the same storyline different people too.... but I will always remain faithful to my carpathians and love them no matter what.

So has anyone figured out the importance of the meadow of myst and ghosts...? Its one of those things that sort of struck me happy when I realized the deeper meaning it had...

It's the Purgatory of the Carpathian World isn't it? While your there, you have to face the bad actions of your life, and not only asks forgiveness for them, you have to forgive yourself for them, so that you can go on to Heaven or Hell. Like Vlad had to obtain Manolito's forgiveness for what happened to Ivory, and he had to correct his mistake in not commdeming Draven, before him and Sarantha could go on to Heaven. Until you are released from your earthy cares/mistakes/duties/sins you cannot go on. Am I right?

yup thats basically it - you have to right a wrong in simpleton language! If anyone read Janny Wurts; Peril's Gate, Arithon had to go through the same sort of thing in Kewar Tunnel (for those of you who dont know the series its the Wars of Light and Shadow, Alliance of light book 3 - ONE OF THE BEST SERIES EVER WRITTEN!)
Now I did consult my crystals last night now dont get mad if I ain't right BUT: Dominic is in the next book and Gabrelle ... yup is lifemate! Negitive response in the case of Dimitri and Nicholas's books! Now a strange one: when I paired Nic and Ivory I got a postitive! RESULT!
When you think of it Dominic and Gab are suited as they put family before everything..
As for Gregori being a father - I actually reckon he'd be cool! Imagine all the cool fighting/healing skills you could learn from him, then there's Savannah..yup defo wanna be one of those girls (just not bringing home the first date hahahaaa)
right think thats enough...for now
PS I wanna be a lycan!

LOL... Predictions are cool. *grin* The gabrelle/dominic thing doesn't quite fit but who am I to say what wil be or not. You may be right. Only time an CF will be able to tell. I might be able to beg a hint from Manda or Domini... But thats on an off chance.
Okay... The purgatory as we have declared it is not necissarily a means to heaven/hell. From what I read it is a place that will lead you into the next life. I believe the next life can be multipe things. Heaven for some, and rebirth to others.... The major thing I understood when I read and then re-read the section in the land of myst and ghost was, that here was a place for the soul of the vampires to redeem themsleves and in doing so win a chance at rebirth, a chance to reunite in the living world with thier other halves. So that for people like Pater and his lifemate there is a second chance, as the souls seem to be able to be reborn again and again...
That thought - that the vampires had a chance to be rebirthed and find thier other halves made me smile... I liked that they had a chance to redeem. Granted most of those vamps we saw were a bit clueless, but fate, as in Maxim and Manolitos encounters has a plan to help them see past what they were to what they can become. I am sure of it... (Of course this is just the way I read it...who knows..)

You just want everyone to have a chance at a HEA!
I do agree about the redeeming of thier souls though. Not all of them were bad Carpathians! They went centuries without color or emotions. They just weren't strong enough to keep on going without them and chose the wrong way to end the pain! So if they could be redeemed and condemned I would love that too!

Cynthia I have a question? What exactly does HEA stand for, because I really have no idea what it means? And Flame keep using those crystals, sooner or later, they'll give us some straight answers. And also, does anyone think like I do, that some of the last three Malinov Brothers haven't turned? I think if there's one who hasn't turned vampire, it would be Ruslan the eldest. He was supposed to have been really deadicated and cool-headed so maybe he had more honor than his younger brothers? What do you all think, because I could really see him perhaps with ethier Tatijana or Branislava, the long-lost Dragonseeker Aunts?

OH sorry. It stands for Happily Ever After.
I had mentioned to someone the other day that I thought that maybe one or more of the Manilov brothers hasn't turned. I think they want the De La Cruz brothers to think that the rest of them have turned though!

HEA - Happile Ever After.
And as for the way you think... I believe it is possible that two of the five are still Carpathian. I think this because as you recal Maxim said that they had eyes and ears in the carpathian community. Gregori (I believe) demanded that they would know if vampire or vampire servents walked amongst them, so then... Would it not make sense for the Carpathian spies as they are, to be Carpathian, dedicated to their family. If Ruslan, who (may or may not be Vampire) is in the same seat as Zarcarias as the man whose word is law, it could be thought out that maybe amongst his family some where ordered to remain carpathian, while others were ordered or changed to vampires?! (Keep in mind that though vampires are self centered - in a family as closely nit as the Malinov bothers that some under lying of loyalty is remenamt. Maxim was vampire but dedicated to his families vision. Kija (sp) the youngest (vampire rhiorden fought) too was dedicated to the vision of the "master".
Having carpathians who side with vampires is one way to get by Gregori and the rest of them. For one thing its not immediately something that gregori, lucian, gabriel, mikhail, or the other males might concider. Vamps and Carpathians DO NOT WORK TOGETHER. That is there belief, and the malinovs knew this, as well... why not use this mental weakness and extort it? If you want to over through a government, then you get rid of their allies and do the unexpected.
As for Ruslan and the aunts who knows. I'm not so sure. It is obvious that Ruslan is the key behind the lock, Xavier was working for him, Maxim admitted as much in his dialogue with Manilito... If he's not yet Vampire, he is working with them, and with the mages, so he probably knows about the girls...and has done nothing to save them... so I can not really put him in a place to be lifemated to one of them. Male carpathians WOULD not allow that of thier lifemates....its to ingrain to protect them. *shrugs* But a very good point...

You have a point Myrrha. The best way to destroy a society would be to destroy them from the inside out. Vlad himself said to destroy him you would have had to destroy his allies, like the Jaguar.I just wonder if perhaps, Ruslan or the other two Malinovs, Vadim and Sergey, are secretly trying to put an end to Xavier. You know use the destroy-from-the -inside-out-philisophy on him. But I also see what your saying, if one or both of the Aunts were their lifemates, they would rescuse them from their imprisonment, if they hadn't turned vampire. As for the spies inside the Carpathian community, maybe they don't even know that they're spies? Like say, the Malinovs captured some the Carpathians and took their blood, and erased their memories of it happening, that way the Malinovs could get secret information, without even their victims knowning it. Razvan did something very close to that with Natalya, without her knowning it, and Skyler, too, can't remember her past before the abuse.
