The Daratrazanoff parents met their demise in the Turks Wars. Back in those days, the Carpathians had closer relantionships with the surrounding humans, and when the Turks started destroying the human villages, the Carpathian adults decided to use their powers and help their human friends. However, the Turks attacked when the sun was high, and the Carpathians were at their weakest, and many of them were slain in ritual-vampire killings, including Daddy and Mama Daratranzanoff. All we know about them so far, is that Daddy Daratrazanoff had Gregori's position in the Carpathian World, being the cheif healer and second-incommand to Prince Vlad, and Darius said that his mother was a gentle and loving person, with a wonderful smile. Since we learned that Carpathian women use to have not been claimed, by their lifemates till they were two hundred years old, that would have made Mama Daratrazanoff an ancient like her husband, and they were obvisously, mated for centuries, since there is a thousand years between Gregori and the Dark Twins, and two-four hundred years between Gregori and Darius. I personally think, that Gregori got his sliver eyes from his mother, because the family surname, Daratrazanoff, means "Dark One", so that seemed like a clue that Lucian, Gabriel, Darius, and Desari got their dark eyes from their father's genes, and I also think, that Desari recieved her powerful voice from her mother, since it seems her brothers got their father's gifts of healing and warrior abilities.

I too loved the part where MaryAnn knocked Mano on his butt! It was great seeing a lifemate give as good as she gets so early on in the book! I hope they have more of them in later books. Can you imagine what their children will be like? Having the wolf and being born Carpathian too? Sound like trouble for their parents!
I definitely agree that Skyler and Demitri will have a hard road to get to being lifemates. She is going to need a lot of healing and Demitri is going to need to learn to be around other people and not stay in wolf form so much. It is so going to be worth it though for both of them.
Yes Red just jump on in at anytime and topic. LOL We love to talk. If we are off topic and you want to talk about the topic of that thread just ask away and we will answer!

;D Oh yes, that would be an image: Myrrha the Madam! And guys I might take you up on your offer, I just have to remeber to do so. Thankyou for inviting me, because it sounds like you all have a really good time. Oh Cybthia, your thoughts about M&M's children is really accurate. I can imagine what a young werewolf-Carpathian hybrid would be like, especially since they would inheret the equal strenght of both races. LOL Talk about a babysister's worse nightmare!!!
And as for Dimitri and Skyler those two will definitly have a mountain to climb. Speaking of D's perference for his wolf form, I remember reading in DC, how Mikhail cautioned him about doing that too much. He said it was dangerous taking on the "wild ways", and warned Dimitri not to do it so often. I guess what Mikhail meant was since Carpathians already have predatory insincts they have to be really careful not to spend so much time in animal form, where those insincts override their human ones. Maybe Christine Feehan's giving us a clue to another problem D&S will have to deal with? I hope in their book they get cut some slack, because they've already dealing with so much.

Thanks RED.
I agree that the being a wolf so often might be a problem. Usually if they mention something like that it is a hint of things to come. Now that he has met Skyler he might have to be in that form more often to control his feelings of wanting her. That in itself could cause problems. She might have to talk him out of wolf form one day if he loses all sense of who he is and just becomes the wolf!
I am really starting to like these strong kick butt heroines. MaryAnn is one of the best I think. I also liked that she didn't know about her powers but was still able to knock Mano on his butt. She can probably throw him a mile or so now that she knows and is Carpathian! LOL

Your welcome, Cynthia, and I agree, I liked MaryAnn alot too. To me she was a great mix of caring and toughness. You know, I read on a review on Amazon, that someone found her annoying and that Christine Feehan wrote her totally differently in her own book, than she was protrayed in Dark Destiny and Dark Celebration. Now I haven't read DDestiny, but I don't think MaryAnn was all that different from how she was in DCelebration. She, herself, admitted in it, that she was a girlygirl and she didn't like nature. And as for her love of fashion, so what? Some women like to dress-up all the time, and if you read carefully MaryAnn's fashion sense, makes her feel more confident, and after fighting a vampire and worrying whether or not your lifemate will come back from the netherworld, I imagine alot of us might need something that gives us confidence to wear. Some people can't just accept that we all have our little quirks, and can't realize there's all sorts of ways to be a strong woman, and I think that's very sad.

I absolutely LOVED her book. It is because of her that I am going to make English my major in college. I always find her books fasinating simply because she has been able to make an "alternate reality" and make it co-exist with the reality that we live in. (people living in modern times and dealing with the things that everyone does such as bills, health, ect.) Not only that, but she makes it possible for someone (anyone of us) be their lifemate. make sence??? i also applaud her in slowly but surly making a complex society with different species, that you knoew nothing about in the first several books. and throwing in some political propaganda in the mix. She has a gift many envy! sorry if im not explaining this very well. anyway, if anyone hears anything on any one of her next books let me know. im also very intruiged with the ghostwalker series. especialy with dr whitney for sure being alive. i could so kill my grandfather inlaw, i had all my christine feehan books in a box, and he threw them away!!!!! i had all of them. now i only have dark celebration and possetion. well happy reading to all. and remember, if you hear anything, let me know!!!!
love all linda

Fine.. $5 to chat with Dark....
Worm - I have threatened the lives of my siblings if they ever got it in their head to toss out ANY of my books. Granted the majority of the books I buy and read go to the Library in donation form, but Those I keep, I keep for a long-long time. For example.. Silly will remember these series I am sure. In Middleschool my fav author was L.J. Smith her Vampire Diaries were the best and got me hooked into the "other" world... Soon I followed with Secret Circle and then onto her Nightworld Series... Loved em' and I still have those books even though they are out of print.

;D I'm like you with my books Myrrha. You know how the Carpathian males are so possessive with their lifemates? Well I'm the same way with my books: MINE, BACK OFF!!! I actually have a really big collection too, including history, philosophy, romance, poetry, mysteries, and many other types of genres. LOL The running joke in my family is that I'll have to take all the other funiture inside my room, out, so there will be room for more book shelves to hold my ever-growing library.
Oh yeah, does anyone know how long it takes Christine Feehan's site to post her syphosis for her newest Dark novel? I've been on her website everyday, and whenever I check to see what she's currently working on, it only says it will be released in 2008. I hope she means like in January 2008 or February 2008, because I would hate having to wait a year for the next part of the series. My best guess is that the book will be either on Zacarias or Nicholas. I'm leaning toward Nicholas, who we learned is journeying to the Carpathian Mountains to warn Mikhail about the Malinovs plot. Hopefully, we'll also get to witness the naming-cheremony for Jacques's and Shea's baby boy.

I laughed my butt of when MarryAnn knocked M down on his butt. All I've got to say about M&M's kids is, don't call me if you need a babysitter...LOL
OH my god I would of killed my grandfather Worm, if he throw away my books. As it is I'm going crazy as my mom has all my dark books but DP. I make a point to e-mail her everyday and ask if she done with my books. She better be sending back the ones she's done with, I want my books back!

I hate to say it Red but it will probably be a year. That seems to be how long it is taking lately. I hope I am wrong though!
