So, during the teen years the body chemistry of the Carpathians alters and they require blood to sustain their lives and gifts. But they can survive for long periods of time with transfusions and with animal blood, although it makes them weak and unable to shape-shift or do most of the things they usually can do drinking human blood.

But nevertheless I wanna know how Xavier manipulated the women not being able to breastfeed their babies. Another extremophile or special virus, maybe?

The extremophiles ... like Lara said, it enters first the man - than the woman when they make love (when it enters the woman the man is re-infected) - in the body it makes the woman most of the times only conceive a boy and then attacts the infant to provoce misscarriage - if the baby survives, the extremophile enters it during labor to kill him then (and the mother is re-infected by the man). So in this process when the woman is pregnant maybe the extremophile could also influence her biochemistry in a way that makes her unable to breastfeed - double danger to the baby that way.

at least by the given facts yet the most logical I think. And now that they know what it is, Shea has the possibility to develop an antivirus ... the Carpathians getting vaccins!

CF should have lara, gregori, shea, and francesca working on it all together then it would be proven to work extra, extra good!

I finally got to read Dark Curse. Oh my gosh! It was so good! And I'm so glad that Razvan wasn't really a bad guy in the end.
