I'm here, and I agree that the Dimitri is probably be the one to go to the lycanthrope. He probably needs some space away from Skyler before he goes crazy.

Nice to hear from you Irene; it was getting a little lonley around here. LOL But yeah, I think giving the task of convincing the lycans to ally with the Carpathians, cause it would give him a purpose to keep going while he waits for Skyler to heal enough to be his lifemate, and he would have some common ground to work with them. I wonder could Skyler help him, once they get lifemated.

She seems to like animals, so maybe that will help her out. However, I was thinking. Feehan likes to set up situations were the woman grows from out her bad situation by facing it. I wonder what she'll do for Skyler?

It will be interesting to see where Skyler's destiny takes her. She's learning so much about her past and herself, in such a short time, and it will be interesting to see how all she's learning and all she's gained will help her to accept and heal from her past, and as such, embrace her future with Dimitri.

If its not Dimitri my bet would be on Maryanne and Monolito since they are part lycan

If she has to face her tragedy I hope they let her grow more confidence in herself first. Maybe get a bit older. She will need to trust her lifemate to help her though it too.

True Cyn. But atleast it seems that she's gaining more confidence in her and her abilities, and I think with that is coming the realization that she's starting to trust Dimitri and their bond. I think she understands that she is already committed to him emotional, as well as pyschically, on some level.

That is true but gaining confidence in her abilities is not going to help her accept her lifemate. That is going to take a lot more strength. I think she can hide in her work to heal the earth and not face the fact that she has a lifemate that will need her sooner or later.

I wonder what she'll do for Skyler? CF has made a point of having Skyler learn some new abilities lately. Helping Francesca with the glass, and Sybil with the earth... and she seemed fascinated and in awe of Natalya (and likely Lara) with their mage abilities. In Dark Celebration, she asked Gabriel if she could do that. I'm betting that she'll face her past by helping to destroy Xavier, altough I think it will take all of the Dragonseekers and their lifemates to do so. If Razvan is her father and he is released in Slayer, she will also need to face him and her memories of that time. Aside from blocking her memories out, I wonder if her father also helped distance her from them. Francesca said that she couldn't find any memories of Skyler from before she arrived in France with her 'father' abusing her. Maybe they were erased? Or hidden? Maybe the aunts or Razvana helped her to escape with her mother, but they were so scarred that the fell into the hands of a human monster and didn't have the strength to escape. We know that Xavier has no problem using babes to feed, so if Skyler were really young when shhe left, maybe she honestly is confused and hazy about that point in her life. Plus, in the forest scene of Dark Celebration, she was rather desparate to not remember someone tearing open her wrist for food. She actually yelled at Vik and Nat, which is unusual for her. And she mentioned to either Raven or Alexandria in the beginning that she hadn't wanted to come to the mountains at all - even with all the other teens going too. Was that because she is shy and doesn't feel she fits in or is it because Razvan or the Aunts put a mage spell on her so that she feels wary coming to the area. In a similiar way that people feel uneasy when they go close to the cave. It would have been a protection for her to prevent re-capture. Anyway, sorry for the bookish-sized post! LOL, once I got started, I couldn't stop!

We don't mind long posts. You have a lot of good ideas flowing. Skyler is a big mystery. Most of what we know is guess work. I really wish we had more real knowledge of her childhood. I hope we get some real info on her soon.
Good idea about her not wanting to come to the Mountains. Since she had no memories of ever being there before then maybe she has a compulsion implanted to not go nearby. Wow so much to think about.

You know I never thought about it, but maybe Razvan or the Aunts did put some sort of spell or complusion on her, for her own safety, to make her wary of going to the Carpathian Mountains. As for how Skyler and her mother escaped when she was a baby, it said in the hologram/message that Razvan lefted Natalya in the Cave, that when he could, he helped the children and the women that Xavier made him impregnant, escape when he could, by showing them the way out of the network of caves. Also it said that at one time, Ravan did escape from his grandfather, but when he found out that Xavier was going to kidnap one of his children that was living in the United States, which was obvisously Colby, he went to save her, and succeded, but was also recaptured by Xavier.I do also have a strong feeling that the woman that was Thompson's wife, was not Skyler's birth mother. We know Lara's mother was a mage and Colby's was of strong Jaguar descent, so I'm thinking that Skyler's mother was more than just a regular human either.

I think Xavier picked the mothers for their power. So she probably wasn't Skylers mother. It might be someone they gave the baby to thinking it would keep her safe from Xavier.

I wonder if Skyler's real mother had a hand in errasing her memories of Xavier and Razvan. Maybe she thought by doing so, she could provide her daughter safety and peace. I'm thinking that the one whose really going to help Skyler recover and face her memories is going to be Dimitri. My guess is do to their bond as lifemates, he'll be the one to help her open the door to what she has forgotten, but needs to remember, so she can move forward. I wonder if she's gonna be the one to go to him, cause she knows he needs her? I think Skyler would rise above her fears of what has and what might happen, if she felt Dimitri's pain and knew it was time for her to be with him now, or they'd both be losted. She went to him when she felt his pain in Dark Curse, nor would she let him suffer it alone, even when he tired to block it from her.

If they did erase her memories then it would protect her if a vamp or someone else tried to read her mind. All of the speculating is going to drive us crazy before Skyler ever gets her book!
