You know heather you've made another very good point about why Ivory might want to quit being a hunter, since unlike her ancient male counterparts, she can't turn off her emotions when she destroys a vampire. And since she been doing this for up to 1,000 years by now, she's now doubt burned out by emotional-overload.

RED!! OMG I've missed you posting. We've all talked and think you should come up to the general discussion boards and chat with us there. We all love your ideas.
As you pointed out RED and heather her emotions can't be turned off so its probably torment for her to kill these people...especially since the women tend to see the good in everybody. She probably feels like a monster since they did have a good side at one point

I actually believe that Ivory is going to be a true slayer
So while she may feel things more deeply in may indeed be her betrayal and her rage that drives her.
There is no need for her to hunt vampires she could have hid like Francesca if she did not want to be discovered
I think there is a deeper darker motive that is driving her to slay maybe her encounter with Draven

I agree with Nikita. I think she is feeling betrayed and lots of anger. She probably feels the men that turned vampire betrayed their whole race by doing so.

The whole anger/rage idea as a driving force for Ivory becoming a slayer is a good idea guys. I mean, Ivory was attacked, possibly raped and held prisoner by an evil vampire, so no doubt she thinks that they need to be destroyed to protect everyone else. Plus, the fact that many, if not all, her beloved elder brothers have turned would deepen the feeling of betrayal, cause the men whom she admired and loved the most, and who protected her, and now her enemies, and she'd feel it's her duty to take them down. But I doubt it will be easy for her. Remember how when Lucian was thought to have turned, and Gabriel knew he had to destroy him, but he still hated to do it, because he still loved Lucian? That's how I think it's gonna be for Ivory. Thank God she'll have Razvan by her side, but he'll have to deal with his own issues and incecurities, if he's to be any help to her.

In that reply we got from CF, she says that she thinks that Dark Slayer is the most exciting book she's ever written, and that she loves Ivory and Razvan's characters. Such high praise makes me only wanna read it more.

I am going to Europe for 2 months and come back on the 24th August and then the book comes out soon after.
I'm almost looking forward to the end of my trip so I can read the book the suspense is killing me, I would have died if it had come out while I was over there, I would have to lock myself up for a whole day to read it.
