Shlindrea:
*"I don't have a mind link with any of the others. Are they ok?" Color again flamed in her cheeks. maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. "I've never encountered such a blackness before. Granted I've only fought and killed a few of them." 'Drea couldn't believe she was rambling. She was a Valkeryie for Odin's sake, she was as used to battle as these hunters where. must be the mortal in me. Great what other human emotions did Odin have in store for her. "One little mistake and he gets so pissy." Still mumbling to herself, 'Drea continues to follow Stefan. "Do you even know where we're going?" She loved tormenting the man, he deserved no less for the way he made her heart start and stutter. And the hand on her wrist was not helping a bit.*
Ailenia:
*Stefan paused a moment, his face holding a blank expression, one that Drea would soon associate with his contact with others, then he glanced at her, his obsidian eyes almost sparkling. "It seems your friend Andrea is giving B'astien quite a bit of hell, but they have dispatched one of the vampires, the rest are beginning to scatter, we have bigger problems" he said as he pointed to the edge of the trees where the blackness began to envelop the trees. Small tendrils began to snake out from the edges and wind their way around the trees, forming what appeared to be a fence of sorts around the two of them, and more yet began to weave itself overheard, as if to cage them in. Stefan couldn't feel anything within the blackness other than pure evil, and was unlike any vampire he had ever encountered before. This entity was nothing but pure malice, and it wanted Drea come hell or high water. Stefan wished that Duncan was here, being one of the older of the Carpathians, between either Cristian or Duncan, they might stand a better chance of defeating this thing.
Meanwhile, Ailenia and her friends began to surround the small clearing, drawing the vampires out one by one. Each chose one of them and enticed them away from their group, leading them in various directions into the woods. The men then moved in behind them and dropped in on them in one form or another, and helped to dispatch the vampires with stealth and speed, hoping that they could eliminate them quick enough to go to Stefan and Drea's aid as fast as possible. Ailenia glanced over her shoulder at the gaunt creature that hobbled after her. His hair hung in thin strings around his face and down his shoulders, his sunken eyes nothing more than hollow pits in his skull. She could tell that he had at one time been a rather handwom man, but the years of being a vampire and preying on humans had wiped away any semblence of the man he had once been. She skirted around a large tree, and flattened herself against it, then when the vampire lurched after her, she lunged out and plunged a dagger into his chest. Cristian dropped from the tree onto the creature's back, and snalled his neck before he knew what hit him. The crask rverberated in the silent night, and the body dropped to the ground with a soft thud. Cristian quickly tore the heart out and incinerated both that and the body, then he glared at his lifemate, before she skipped away to find her friends and make sure they were all okay. Crisitan wiped a hand across his face and let out a soft sigh. he felt Stefan touch his mind lightly, the inquiry void of any emotion, a simple matter of fact question regarding the blackness he dealt with. "I have never heard of a vampire using anything similar" Cristian replied. he sighed softly, He had hoped that perhaps one of the women that had joined the community might light that spark in Stefan but so far nothing had brought a light to his friends yes. He shook his head and brought his mind back to the task at hand. His precocious lifemate was engaged with another vampire, and he best get his behind over to make sure she didn't give him a heart attack before the night was over.*

Shlindrea:
*Turning to face Stefan, Drea calmly says, "Bite me." Rushing to finish her statement before he can stop her, 'Drea tries to explain her reasoning. "Neither of us is strong enough alone, we need to work as a team as you said. Blood is power. Just don't make me regret my decision. I don't to have to break Ailenia's heart by having to kill you later." Moving the hair that had fallen from it's pins, 'Drea bares her neck for Stefan and waits for God only knew what to happen.*
*Seeing his hesitation, 'Drea reaches up and kisses him. "I trust you."*
Ailenia:
Stefan feels the soft brush of Drea's lips against his and cradles her head with his hand. He pulls back long enough to look into her eyes, making sure she is aware of what she offers. When he sees the look she gives him, he tilts her head slightly, and lowers his head to her neck. He is gentle, his lips brushing against her creamy skin, his teeth gently scraping the flesh before he carefully pierces the skin. he feels her flinch slightly, a small gasp of pain escaping her lips, then he draws her against his body, fighting back the roar of the beast he feels as the warm coppery taste of the blood begins to slide down his throat. He sinks his teeth deeper into her neck, and begins to drink, the warmth of her blood flowing through him in a wild rush of ecstacy. He blocks the thoughts from his mind, they have no time for the things he would like to do to her, there is an evil awaiting this woman, and it will be over his dead body before he allows it to claim her. Fighting his primal urge to possess this woman, he withdraws, then gives her neck a soft, sensuous lick to close the wonds. He feels her sway slightly as he lifts his head, and holds her about the waist, allowing her to regain her footing before he releases his grip on her. *
Shlindrea:
*'Drea's heart sounded loud in her ears as she felt Stefan's tongue on her pulse, then everything exploded into sheer color and ectasy as his teeth pierced her throat. She heard herself moan and could only think of wrapping her arms tighter around his neck to keep from falling over. Oh how she wished she could belong to him. But he showed none of the signs the others had said a male would when he found his lifemate. Shuddering again, 'Drea slowly became aware that Stefan was watching her as he set her away from his long, hard body. A tear slipped down her cheek, "I'm sorry I can't be what you need me to be."*
Ailenia:
*Stefan glanced down at the petite woman he held in his arms and wished at that moment that he could feel the emotions that had deserted him so long ago. He brushed the tear off her cheek and gave her a smile, with what he hoped was a very good impression of a caring look. "Do not worry cara, I know you care, and that is enough, I would still give my life for you, no matter if we are bound or not, never forget that." He felt the web that was being woven arond them tightening with each moment they spent, and carefully reminded her of that, then he took her hand in his and kissed her knuckes softly. "Are we ready to kick some evil ass?" he asked with a smirk.*
Shlindrea:
*Fire danced dangerously into her eyes. "You have no idea." Standing back to back with him 'Drea felt the heat inside her begin to rise. Heat began to billow around her, removing the hair pins from her hair, she called forth the fire. "Gods of old hear my plea, your daughter needs the help of thee. Lend me your fire that I may cleanse this evil I see in front of me."*
Ailenia:
*Stefan reached back and grasped Drea's hand for a moment, giving her a reassuring squeeze, then the darkness began to close in around them, tightening the net it had woven around the area. The moon's silvery light dimmen, to be replaced with an inky blackness, so heavy you could feel it. It was as if a thick black smoke had began to permeate the forest, wrapping itself around the two in a tight coccoon. Stefan reached out for Drea's mind, thankful for the blood exchange she had so willingly offered. He held her tightly to him, keeping hre constantly tied to him and reassuring her the entire time that he wouldnot leave her. "Fire seems to be quite effective against whatever this is, so I'm going to shift again into the dragon, use whatever power your Gods bestowed on you, but whatever you do, stay as close to me as possible, okay?" He waited for her response, already forming the image of the dragon in his mind. He made it smaller this time, so that they could remain together, but still powerful enough to fight this darkness that held them in its grasp.*

Shlindrea:
*"Ok." was her simple response, saving her energy for the battle had begun. Never her many years had she encountered anything like this. Of course, she usually wasn't seen by the many things that stalked a battlefield. Being even half mortal had to many drawbacks. Seeing Stefan shift into a dragon and feeling the might of him in her mind, 'Drea couldn't help the smile that came to her. "Show off." The smile became a deadly grin when she finally felt the heart of the thing that held them. If heart you could call it. Taking a step toward it, she plunged the hairpin, which was actually a hollow ceramic like needle, into the center of the beast. "ENOUGH!" she shouted and sent all the energy she could grab onto through the needle into the heart. As she sank to her knees, such a bubble of fire burst from that she could little else but scream with the pain of it. Stefan, I'm sorry was the last thought 'Drea had before she once again collasped at his feet.*
Destiny:
Destiny stepped off the bus, bags in hand and breathed deep of the air. She had come to the Carpathian Mountains, for what reason she was unsure. Perhaps it had something to do with reading so many books whose setting took place there.
With a sigh, she looked around her. It was wonderful, green and primitive. Untouched was the word that first came to mind. It was perfect.
Suddenly, however, a sense of unease crept up her spine; something was there, something evil was waiting in the bushes. Suddenly, it felt hard to breath. Hurridly, she walked up to the door of the old inn and went inside.
Even after going into her room, Destiny could not shake the feeling that something bad was learking about...and the thickening of the air, which was beginning to pulsate with energy, did not help matters. It felt like there was going to be a great fight.
Suddenly, she heard a voice, a deep and captivating voice.
Who are you? What are you doing THERE?! CAN'T YOU FEEL THE DANGER?! Destiny did what any young woman would do, she screamed and spun around... but there was nobody even remotely near her. Her heart thundering, she looked out the window, suddenly compelled to walk out into the woods. It was foolishness, she knew, but it was a compulsion she could not fight--did not want to fight. The voice had been so real, so pure and beautiful...and her unease of the place she was in was growing by the minute.
Destiny had to find the speaker...no matter what was waiting out there. I can always protect myself she reminded herself, staring hard at the bed; it levetated a moment before setting back down. Smiling, but feeling very ill at ease, Destiny walked down the stairs and into the lobby, heading toward the door.
However, something caught her eye... that something was a bunch of lifeless bodies strewn across the floor and a great beast with firey red eyes glowering at her.
"Destiny," it purred. "I was hoping I'd see you here." Fear the likes of which she had never known claimed her mind, her body, and she couldn't move... not even when the creature drifted across the floor toward her.
"I told you I would come for you."
Destiny shrunk back from the creature, remembering vaguely a nightmare...or what she had thought to be a nightmare.
"Get away from me, you ghoul!"
Focusing, she used her mind to throw a chair at him. The creature's hands smashed threw it, throwing splinters across the floor; he laughed at her.
He glided closer, his fetid breath causing her to want to gag, his laughter striking fear in her heart.
"There's no escape, my dear, no escape."

Ailenia:
*Stefan bit back a curse as he felt the web tighten around them. he roared with anger, his eyes whirling with a rianbow of colors, as he arched his neck and sent a blast of fire toward the blackness that threatened to swallow them. He felt the imapct of the fire as soon as Drea released it, then her body as it fell to the ground. He screamed in defiance at this thing which drew even tighter around them, and lifted his head to sear it with the dragon's fire. He felt a momentary weakness in it as the fire she had sent into it reached it's core. The ground underneath them shook, the nearby trees rustled so hard that leaves began to rain down onto the forest floor. He quickly turned and scooped her up in his forearms, and cradled her still form to his chest. He arched his wings, in an attempt to tear through the thick black netting which had wrapped around them, only to feel them burning, like acid against the tender membranes of his wings. He shreiked in pain, but he didn't pull them back. He swung his head back around and poured more fire against the darkness, feeling it give a bit more, then he charged headlong against it, using his teeth to rip huge chunks of the netting away. He heard a high pitched keening sound, as if the thing were crying out in pain as he tore at it. He spat the foul tasting material out of his mouth, then quickly ripped at more of it until he had gored a hole large enough to force his bulk through. He leapt out of the blackness, and into the night air, then he sprang into the air and beat his wings trying to gain height. The thin skin that ran between the bones on his wings hung in shreds, making it hard for him to gain any height, so he stumbled as far as he could then gently laid Drea on the ground and shifted abck to his human form. His body had several burns and he was bleeding in several other places. He gently brushed the hair back from her face and gaveher a light shake to wake her. He silently prayed that she would wake up, even as he opened his mind to Cristian, letting him know that they were still alive and in need of help as soon as possible.*
Shlindrea:
*'Drea's eyes fluttered open with the gentle shaking. She smiled lazily up at Stefan, "I see the stars. Did we win?" Struggling, she stood uneasily to her feet. "I'm gonna' have to work on that blast effect. Oh, your hurt. Where are the others?"*

Ailenia:
*Stefan smiled as Drea opened her eyes, her concern for him brought back a memory of how it had felt when Ailenia had often fussed over him after a particularly nasty fight, the memory of the emtions that had touched him so long ago flitted through his mind, and he glanced away for a moment. he silently cursed whatever god had been cruel enough to curse their race with the loss of their emotions, to fight the beast that raged within them night after night, until they could find the one woman that would return those emotions to them, to bring color back to their world. He forced his mind back to the task at hand, and helped Drea to her feet, even as she insisted that they tend his wounds. "I'm fine, cara, don't fuss over me. I will heal in time, we must finish what we have begun. Cristian and the others are busy with the last few vampires that were in the clearing." He noted that the darkness had begun to recede slightly, but it was still covering a vast expanse of land. Stefan knew they had enough strength for one last strike at this foul being, so it had better count. He took Drea's hand and looked down at her, his obsidian eyes glittering in the pale light of the moon. "Are you string enough for one last attack against that thing?"*

Destiny refused to give up. Though she knew herself to be overpowered, she refused to curl up and die.
Focusing again, this time on a table, Destiny flung it at the creature. "When are you going to learn," he smashed the table before it reached him, "that you cannot hurt me. You are to be my queen, my dear, as well as my next meal. There is nothing you can do about it.
Destiny glared at him, focusing on him. Perhaps she could throw him outside? Instantly, she felt a searing pain on her head, a pain that brought her to her knees. The pain spread, causing her whole body to shake and convulse with it. A strangled cry came out in a gasp as tears cascaded down her face.
"STOP IT!" she ordered, hair beginning to whip, apparently of its own accord, around her head. She felt a surge of power leave her, but was unsure what she had directed it to do.
The pain intensified then, until, suddenly--it stopped.
Wairly, Destiny looked around, finding a whole in the wall--a testimony of the strenght of the energy that had left her. The Vampire had advanced back through the whole she had made with him in the wall, anger vibrating through his entire being. Suddenly, however, he stilled.
Uncertainly, Destiny glanced to the door; there was a large sillioute standing there, blocking the light of the moon. For some reason, though she could sense the forocity in this being, she knew this newcomer meant her no harm.... [/b]

*Slowly, one by one, the vampires that had occupied the clearing were eliminated. Some gave more of an effort than others, but most knew that their purpose had only been to detain the Carpathians while the dark evil concentrated on Drea. When the last of them had been incinerated, the small group of hunters gathered along the edge of the woods, few had minor injuries, which were tended, then Cristian glanced to them, his face drawn, worry tinging his dark eyes. "Stefan and Drea are stil lalive, they have escaped the clutches of the evil which tried to ensnare them, but they are far from safe. He hopes they cna make a last stand, of sorts, against it, and destroy it, but we must all be ready to aid them. We need to make our way toward them, form a wall behind them, and give whatever aid you can to them. Listen to what he tells you, this is our last chance to destroy whatever this is." With that, he took Ailenia's hand and both turned and made their way through the forest, the rest of their friends close behind them.*

Destiny are you writing your own lifemate story? I have no idea! LOL It may work out that way, but it'd probably be best to leave that to the master--Myrrah.
I left it open to be either male or female in the doorway, just somebody lol [/b]

*Stefan nodded, then reached down and took her hand. he gave her a reassuring smile, as the two of them turned to face the blackness that began to creep slowly toward them. It had nothing to define a body, head or limbs, yet Stefan could swear he knew where the "heart" of the beast lie. he could feel the pulsing almost dead center, and as it crept closer to Drea, the pulsing became stronger. "Can you feel it? .. right in the center, thats where we need to hit it." he whispered in her mind, not daring to use speech, in case it could "hear them. "On my command, use whatever power you have left, and I'll pull a rabbit out of my hat to help you, go for the dead center, okay?" He brought her hand up to his lips, kissing it softly, as he glanced sideways at her, hoping that the look he gave her would reassure her. This emotion thing was not as easy as he remembered but he knew that humans relied on them and he didn't want to disappoint Drea. He kept her hand held in his, then turned his attention back to the cloud of black evil that was making its way slowly toward them. As he prepared to give her the command he felt a light touch in his mind, and looked over his shoulder. he saw first Cristian and Alienia, then Andrea and B'astian, then the rest of his friends begin to appear behind him. He arched a brow inquisitively. Cristian laughed softly as he spoke, "I couldnt let you two have all the fun." he said with a smirk. "What would you like us to do little brother?" Stefan quickly outlined his plan, and Cristian nodded. he relayed the information to the others and soon they were all ready. Stefan turned back and gave Drea's hand a light squeeze. "Ready, cara?" he asked softly.*

*Taking strength from him and all thier friends standing behind them, 'Drea grinned. "I haven't had this much fun in ages." Holding the needle in her outstretched hand, 'Drea let it heat up until it glowed red hot. "Here we go. NOW!" And out shot the needle, once more into the heart of the beast. A trail of fire close behind it.*

*Stefan felt the energy building in Drea, and the charge of electricity in the air as each of his Carpathian brethren prepared to strike at the being before them. As soon as Drea released the needle he called forth the lightening, and felt it joined by several other bolts as well. Syndil's star, being metal, acted as the perfect conductor, drawing the electricity toward it as it raced toward the beasts heart. As soon as the lightening struck the beast, the night light up like Hiroshima. Stefan grabbed Drea and threw her as far away from the blast as he could, forcing her onto the ground, and covering her with his body to protect her from the fire that lashed out in every direction. Cristian grabbed Ailenia and leaped backward, pulling her around and covering her as well, as the rest of them dove for cover wherever they could find it. Fire and ash rained down in thick clumps for ten feet in all directions, searing through clothing, and burning flesh wherever it touched. Stefan felt the clumps of acidic fire landing on his back and did what he could to dislodge them, but he dared not move for fear of exposing Drea to the deadly rain. He knew that he would survive, he wasn't so sure about her. After several moments, the rain ceased, and they all began to stand, some slower than others. For the most part, all were in decent shape, except for Stefan, whose back looked like it had been stripped of its skin. Cristian caught him befoe he fell back to the ground, and eased him back down. It would be several days before Stefan would recover from this but at least he would recover. the being was destroyed, and they began to head for home.
