;D Christine Feehan LOVES surprises! LOL I also gotta say I love how the Carpathian World has evoled, and how we've learned about it's history and origins. I think all of it's complexity gives it more depth and reality. I wonder if Tiberiu Bercovitz was at the Council? I'm thinking he wasn't there, because he sounds like the type who'll pop-in unannouced and save the day, with a grand entrance. From what little I know about him, he seems like the type.

She really does keep us on our toes.
They didn't mention Tiberiu by name so I don't know. I think seeing the men all work together in the ice cave was great though. The way they worked together so well was terrific.

I loved seeing the Carpathian males all together and using their abilities to fight Xavier's minions. Even if they have their differences and their disagreements, they still manage to be a great team, and I deeply respect that about them. It was also great to see the Carpathian women working together to save their children, and in their own way, fight Xavier. Their battle, while different from the males', was just as cool and important.

It was great seeing them work together so well too. Not just fighting together but really working together as a team. They know they need to depend on everyone to end this war with Xavier and the vamps.
I loved that we got to see more of the women and thier rituals. Trying to fight to save the babies together. Plus because Lara was a lifemate they were really accepting of her and her help.

It was cool to learn about the rituals of Capathian women, and how they protect the community. It was also interesting to learn that Natalya could heal to earth. I don't even she thought that she could do it. I wonder can Tatijana and Branislava can do it too, when they're more healed? Also weren't Lara and Nicolas such a great couple? They really balanced each other, and tired to best to be there for each other. Plus they really listened to each other's opinions, and had respect for other.

For some reason I think the aunts are going to be very strong Carpathian women. They survived so long weak and in the ice. I think Natalya can do a lot more then she knows. She has concentrated on fighting and not on finding if she has skills in healing or other things.

I agree with you Cyn. I think once Tatijana and Branislava heal, it will be revealed that they have some amazing powers that will really help the Carpathian Race. I mean, they taught Lara everything she knows, both Mage and Carpathian, and they learned it all from their mother Rhiannon, who was one of the most strongest and powerful Carpathian women to ever exist, so you know that they are gonna be something once they have healed.
And I also agree about Natalya. I'm thinking she'll discover she has alot more skills in the areas of healing and such, too. Maybe she'll learn more skills from the Aunts, as will Lara, Skyler, and Colby. But I think her main focus will be in her warrior and mage skills, cause that's were she excells.
Wonder what Skyler's skills will focus on? We know she's training as a Earthhealer, and in mage spells, and her pyschic talents lie in being an empath. Plus, she's learning all sorts of Carpathian powers, from Francesca, Gabriel, and Lucian, all who are powerful Ancients. I wonder if she might develop into a seer, like Dominic is suspposed to be. Both in this book, and in Dark Symphony, they mention that the Dragonseeker Line is famous for it's seers. Maybe that's one or both of the Aunts talents.

I think a lot of the women might have great powers that are not fighting powers. They have been so scared of the vamps and now Xavier that I think they have all been concentrating on protection instead of healing or other powers. Plus most of them are young compared to the aunts. So over time as they get older I think we will see a lot of new powerful powers from the women.
I wonder if Skyler being an empath will allow her to feel the vampires now that they are able to hide so well. She might be more capable of feeling their evil and their desire to do harm to people.

That is very true about Skyler Cyn. I was wondering though, has CF ever officially confirmed that Dark Slayer will be Zac's novel? Dark Curse gave me the feeling that Slayer will belong to Dominic, but I could be wrong. I totally loved this book, it flowed SO well.
Gregori definitely had a strong role in this book. Challenging Nic, Lucien, Jackson and Lara, he was really putting Savannah first. (which is to be expected). In Dark Celebration he also challenged Joie and Traian, when Joie's mother attacked Mikhail. I think that we will see him trying to balance his different personalities as a healer, hunter and bodyguard in the future. He has strong opinions about how women should fulfill their roles to their lifemates and people.
Thinking about how the men told Nic not to convert Lara, in a previous book (Dark Celebration i think) it was explained that only the continuation of the species should come before the needs of a lifemate. So by this rule, it is ok that Lara is not converted right away.
Also I wonder whether Gabrielle will be become lifemated to either Andre or Tariq?

So far CF is not saying anything about Dark Slayer. I heard though that she said she was going to finish up the DeLa Cruz brothers before she starts on anyone else. So from that I am thinking it will be Zac's. Of course she might have changed her mind since then.
Gregori was definitely a strong personality in this book. I loved it. LOL I think he is right about the women not fighting on the front lines. They can be more useful protecting the women that can't fight or are pregnant. It seems the pregnant women are a big target right now.
I didn't even think about Gabrielle. I wish they had shown her. I would like to know how she is doing.

I saw a video on CF's homepage that showed the name of the book and then pics of the couples. It went all the way through to Dark Slayer where it showed Zacharias and an unnamed woman.
But now I can't find it!

LOL Gregori is a character, no doubt about it! And I agree with him about it would be best if the women protect the other women, and train them. They could do alot more good for the Carpathian Race that way.
I'm also curious about how it's gonna go when the Carpathian Race gets that list from the Morrisson Center that contains the names of potential lifemates? Mikhail and Gregori definitly need to guard it carefully, since like the said, some of the males are so close to turning, and may do something drastic.
As for Gabrielle with either Tariq or Andre, I'm still thinking that they may get with the Aunts, and Gabby and Gary become lifemates.
And simkatz I gotta find out about that video, what was it like?

I have never seen that video. Let us know if you find it.
I love Gregori. LOL Even with his caveman attitude.
That is list is going to be a priceless treasure for the Carpathians. I know they will guard it well.
