lol, those last few comments are all so true. I think that Peril has to belong to either Zacarias or Dominic because they both so close to turning that I dont think they could hold on much longer unless real world vs book world time changes up a lot. Which is great because I love both characters.... but it makes me sad to think that we will have to continue waiting for Dimitri and Skyler.

Actually, we don´t wait for them. Girls, the story of Dmitri and Skyler started in fact already, since Dark Celebration. They have the chance to build up emotional ties and deep trust before the binding, which is absolutely necessary for Skyler. Dmitri has the chance to show her he can be absolutely trusted, to know him and she can learn how to deal with him - because, make no mistakes, I don´t really think he´s sweet as so many think, he´s still a Carpathian man. And he needs that development probably as much as Skyler to be able to be the lifemate she needs, to make her gain confidence in dealing with men ... and they both are important as secondary characters for the storyline. We have the chance to follow Skyler´s apprenticeship with Syndil and Natalya (´cause I think she´s going to teach her mage skills, isn´t she?), her development to a strong woman. Because, honestly, Skyler´s not ready for a lifemate bond yet - she needs time.

I agree delphine, Dimitri and Skyler's is unfolding right before our eyes with each new Dark book, and I agree, I think Dimitri needs to establish trust and communication with Skyler before the bonding, just as much as she does. From what we know, Dimitri's always been a loner since he was a very young child, and now as a Carpathian hunter, he spends most of his time in his wolf-form, and the other half, being the only hunter in a severly dangerous and isolated area of Russia, where not only does he deal with vampires on a daily basis, but also humans who have tired to destroy him and his pack for centuries; due to his isolation and solitary nature, he's not use to other people, including his own race. Remember in Dark Curse, during the first meeting of the warriors? Dimitri is described as being alone; apart of the meeting yes, but still isolated from his peers, including his long-time friends Julian, and even his future in-laws.
I'm guessing like Skyler, Dimitri doesn't trust easily, and has a tendency to shy away from social interactions, and retreat to nature or his own company, beucase that's where. I think both of them need to learn trust and how to be lifemates together, BEFORE, their mated, cause both of them have personalities that need that before they truly come together.

;D Well, great minds do think alike. LOL
You know what else I think? I think Gabriel and Lucian, along with the other Daratrazanoffs need to not only be Skyler's support system, they should also be Dimitri's. I mean, Skyler's issues are important, no doubt, but she's not the only one in that relationship with ones, Dimitri has them too. They need to be there for him too, cause one day, he will be apart of their family, and if not for his sake, atleast do it for Skyler, cause Dimitri shouldn't just be dealing with this alone, either. And Gabriel needs to stop seeing Dimitri as THE-BAD-GUY-WHOSE'S-GOING-TO-TAKE-MY-DAUGTHER-AWAY-FROM-ME. If he keeps trying to force a wedge between Dimitri and Skyler, instead of encouraging her to try and get to know Dimitri, and build a trust with him, sooner or later, it's gonna hurt them both. He should also try to build some sort of relantionship between himself and Dimitri, cause like it or not, one day that 'werewolf' is going to be his daughter's lifemate and the father of his grandchildren, so he should start treating him better.

I bow down before you o Wise Red. lol, that is completely true. Hating on Dimitri is going to hurt Skyler and eventually will ruin the relationship that she shares with her parents as well.

And the truth is, Gabriel has no good reason to dislike Dimitri, except his own personal prejudice against him. I mean, Dimitri hasn't tired to force Skyler or bind her against her will; he's protected her when she's needed it, and made sure that she received protection when he couldn't be around her, and to top it off, he was strong enough to walk away for the time being, and give her space, even though it was problely the hardest thing he's ever had to do. I'm not saying Dimitri's perfect, or that he doesn't have flaws he needs to work on, but atleast he trying to do the right thing by Skyler, and if Gabriel can't like him for that, he should atleast respect him.

Red, don´t forget that the scene where Dmitri and Gabriel had that heated fight was also due to the mage´s trap emphasizing and playing on their emotions. I don´t doubt Gabriel doesn´t respect Dmitri, at least in dark legend. And then, he remembers Dmitri as a young boy also. And of course he wishes to protect Skyler, fearing that Dmitri might force her into a binding to early ... a normal´s parent´s reaction. In fact, if he wouldn´t grumble we´d find it strange, wouldn´t we?

lol True delphine. I understand why he was so curt to Dimitri and overrotective of Skyler; it is a parent' natural reaction, and with her violent past, it's also natural that he'd be even more protective concerning her, especially at the idea of her being permenantly bound to a Carpathian male, especially a fierce hunter like Dimitri. I just hope he tries do what Francesca is doing, and encourage Skyler to give Dimitri a chance, and make sure she understands what will happen to BOTH of them, if their joning doesn't come to past; she needs to know and understand the facts of her and Dimitri's situation. Not push her, but just make sure she really gets what's going on.

Okay, here one other of Christine´s comments concerning the Dark Series:
"Skyer is too young but she is in several books and will continue to be as she grows up. Zacarias is beginning to grow louder which means he should have a book soon. I have no idea who his lifemate will be. When I actually write the book the story unfolds and they tell me. I don't plan lifemates, they just happen."
And one concerning Andre, mentioned in Dark Curse:
I have big plans for him

And another one:
"Yes, there are ancients scattered still in other countries."

It's could to know that we'll be getting more progress on Skyler's maturity in coming Dark Books, and I hope that includes seeing her interact with Dimitri; I think for her to really come to her acceptance as a woman and a survivor, she needs to let herself get to know him, and not just lose herself in her work as an Earthhealer, and as a student to Syndil and Natalya; all the power and knowledge in the world won't help her, until she sees that she's no longer that terroized little girl, and that she can trust Dimitri. Plus, he needs to be around her, so he can learn how to be the lifemate she needs, and gain his own self-confidence with being with someone, cause like I said eariler, Dimitri has his own issues with being around others and retreating into himself.
As for Andre, it will be interesting to see what CF has instore for him. He and Tariq both caught my eye in Dark Curse, and I'm curious to see what happens to them. LOL ;D Also I've started refering to Andre as the "Carpathian Hacker", because with the way he suggested breaking into the vampire hunters' computer system, I'm wondering if technology may be a specitity of his. LOL It would be kinda cool having a Carpathian computer geek. LOLOLOLOL

I agree, RED, Dmitri and Skyler both need the time being around each other and the others to relearn interacting and socializing, and most important, to trust others apart themselves (and for Skyler apart Gabriel and Francesca). You´re right, a Carpathian Hacker would really be funny - he for sure can come around anything thought up for protection. i just have a picture in my mind turning himself in a computer pixel and travelling in there - well ... ;D

To my fromer post up the page, concerning the ancients comes here another comment from Christine: I hope to have them in different countries. The ancients were sent out all over the world so it makes sense. I had one book planned in Egypt, (obviously a great setting for a story), but so far haven't had the time to write it. I have to settle the Carpathian problems down enough to move on to other countries! So, there are still some hidden out there ...
