Yes ... first I was really surprised, because you all know I pictured Solange with Zacarias, but it´s quite true both would have a really hard time with each other. And I go completely with What Christine said on the Members Only site:
"..... I don't write books based on what others--or me--thinks. I write the books the characters dictate. That's why I don't post news early. If the couple doesn't fit I can't write the book. Solange and Dominic make perfect sense now that their story is unfolding. He's an ancient with a long history of sacrifice and duty. That's his entire life. Pain and suffering have honed and shaped him, as well as honor. Solange is exactly the same. She sacrificed her entire life for the woman of the jaguar species and for her family. She understands duty and honor and she upholds that at every turn. She needs a man who admires those traits in her and finds her vulnerability as a woman endearing. He needs a woman to walk beside him. To understand and respect his life and the choices he has made, including ingesting vampire blood and walking into the very camp of the enemy. No sweet ladylike woman would be able to defend, understand and respect him. She can't fold under pressure, nor would she ever. He is not going to be a man to try to force her to to be anything but what she is. Writing a book is all about finding couples who in reality would stay together long after the book closes. Character and traits have to be taken into consideration. Solange and Dominic feel like a perfect fit to one another. I hope that answers what you're asking.

Wow oh wow, I'm glad it's Dominic...and it is surprising but I guess I'm happy that Solange isn't paired with Zacarias, it'd be too convient and he deserves a totally new female!

And you know what I´m looking forward too in Dark Peril, is that we´ll probably learn more about the Plans of the Vampires as a matter of fact, and of their corruption of the humans in the Morrison Center/Vampire Hunters, the Jaguars under Sergio, the mages and maybe the lycanthropes ... I´m really looking forward to the mages because they are the group we know the less about at that point. The mage in Dark Possession showed that there are still there but I´m sure there are still also the "good" ones out there; and I´m also quite sure the Vampires will try to corrupt some of the lycans, after all they are as powerful as the Carpathians (as MaryAnn showed us so nicely by putting Manolito on his ass - my God, I love that scene ...) and an powerful alley that way.

Well, my thinking to the first meeting between Dominic and Solange bases on the fact that first, we know the vamps want Solange with all they have and second, to prove himself Dom will be tested and being given a challenge.
So I imagine it very probable they´ll going to send him in to kidnap Solange and bring her to the vamps. After all, it makes sense ´cause with his experience he´s a good match to the De La Cruz Brothers. Especially if Nicolas didn´t inform the four yet that Dominic was send in as a spy - which I think probable also because the less know the more believable the rumor of his turning and his prove to the vamps would be.
So, actually, it may be that in that happening Solange joins rank with Dominic, playing the game with him.

Concerning the guess/wishes of some that Jasmine may be lifemate to Zacarias ... I don´t think that would be a good match. After all, Jasmine is still very unsure of herself, doesn´t even rely on her own jaguar and strength as Juliette told Riordan in Dark Hunger. Jazz would be completely overwhelmed by Zacarias and wouldn´t know how to handle him ... and he would be to impatient and exasperated with her, I think.
He also doesn´t need someone like Natalya, Ivory or Colby with their stubborn heads. That would pull out his need to dominate way too much and they would constantly be fighting each other.
I picture Zac now with a woman similar to Francesca, Desari and Corinne ... a basically calm-natured woman, accepting of his character without being subordinated. Showing him his limits in a calm way (remember Desari after Julian gave her the command to sleep - she woke up way before she should and didn´t take contact him but Darius; now, that showed her strength without breaking a heated fight). Someone where he can feel relaxed without being questioned for his strength. I think he´s so used to watch out for everyone now that he forgot how to watch out for himself ... and he´ll need a woman who´ll take care of him and who´ll give him peace. A woman sure of herself. And Jasmine is yet far away from that ...

I liked the comment about Solange´s vulnerability as a woman ... rereading Dark Possesseion clearly shows it. She´s very sure of herself as a warrior but not as a woman. I really love the scene at the end of DP with the women painting their nails ... and the way Solange starts to open up, starting to build up her trust in men. ´Cause, with all the flaws they have, the De La Cruz basically care for their women over all. That´s why it´s important she moves in with them on the ranch also. She´ll learn to work together with them, she already started also at the end of DP with agreeing to show the brothers what they have to look for when watching out for corrupted Jaguar males.

You know, there are different things I was thinking about since I know of the Malinov brothers:
First, they going so seriously after Mikhail now means, in my opinion, the must have found someone to take up his place. Because, don´t forget, Mikhail is the one enabling the whole Carpathians, including the Vampires, to communicate mentally with each other. So what sense to kill him and weaken themselves extremely when there´s no one to stand up? Means, maybe we´ll get a hint of that new bloodline, who by the way, I think doesn´t necessarily have to be in coalition with the Malinovs. They may still have to corrupt the person ... And it occured to me that maybe this mysterious Tiberous Bercovitz could play a little role, the really really bad young boy Julian was talking about.
Second, I also think they´ll have to go way more after the Daratrazanoffs and De La Cruz being the ones able to link their powers with the Dubrinskys. You remember, that´s one of the whole reasons that plan was put up in the beginning, the Malinovs and De La Cruz realizing they have the same power as the Daratrazanoffs to link and share their power. And going after the De La Cruz will be something really personal for the Malinovs now ...
Third, did someone else get the idea that maybe Noelle could have been a lifemate to one of the Malinovs? That Mikhail allowing her to be with Rand and finally her murder through humans put the final fuel in all the heat and put the hate of the Malinovs for the Dubrinskys to a final point? Mikhail went against all laws with that, like Vladimir did with Ivory to protect Draven ...
I´m really looking forward to get some answers to that thoughts, not only in the book.

And this Morrison Center of Psychic Research will be really interesting to learn more of. With all that possible lifemates, it will be thoroughly watched from both sides and, like Gregori fears, there may really be stalking happening.
And very well may some of the vamps also meet their lost lifemates, and what then? ´Cause, I repeat my post from further down, Nicolae said about Pater to Velda, that after the first recognizition and emotional shock he would have killed her not being able to stand what she represented ... and of course, the rational decision to value absolute power over everything. ´Cause as far as I understand the Malinov brothers made their decision without the absolute hopelessness and despair but in a very rational way to take over the whole carpathian, well, the whole world. So what if they even killed their meant-to-be lifemates? The biggest crime of all in the carpathian world, no? But I´m probably drifting away, sorry. Just smile and pad me, okay ... ;-)
