Post any spoilers you have about the book in here. I have the book but have only gotten a couple of chapters into it so far.

Ok I finished the book today. I really loved Dominic but not sure about Solange. I thought she would make it harder on Dominic since she was a warrior woman. She really gave into him way too quick in my opinion. I know she has been around Carpathian men before but dang she didn't make him really work at all for her. I did love what her blood did for him though!

I have to say, I'm a little frustrated with this one. Disappointed is perhaps a better word. I've been waiting for this book for a year! and everytime something exciting happened, as a possible additional story line or at LEAST something new to delve into, it just stopped.
1. The baby jaguar cub. So did it get cured? Can it eat now? 2. What's with the mage in the rainforest? What happens to them now? Why were they there? What were they doing with all those cubs? 3. A Carpathian walks in the sun in the last two pages? That's it, that's all we get? That is huge! 4. I agree with the above poster. Solange is a hard woman, I thought for SURE Dominic would have to do some serious work with her. Was looking forward to the journey. 5. Where is Juliette and Jasmine? Aren't they a huge part of Solange's life? I missed them! 6. Wish i could've seen Josef's point of view in the computer destruction part. He's funny.
That is just some of the stuff I came up with. It seemed dragged out and long. Plus, when I got to the end of the book I was surprised because there was still 70 pages or so left, but it was info about the language, etc. I thought it would be more of the story. I kept waiting for SOMETHING momentous to happen, or get more into the warrior side of Solange. She barely fought at all in this one.
And dominic - when i ask you a question, I expect an answer? Um, yeah. I was excited to see what Solange was going to say to that - and I get. . . nothing? Wow.
Love the Dark Series. Re-read Dark Symphony before I went out and bought Dark Peril, but was left with an empty feeling after reading about Dominic and Solange personally. I guess I'll wait another year and see if the next one will be more gripping.

Her blood cured the baby cub so yes he can eat now.
They were using the cubs to track her for her blood. They were supposed to bring her blood back to the mages.
I too was dissapointed that we didn't get to see Josef, Julietter or Jasmine.
I loved the last book but I was dissapointed that we didn't get any info about a lot of stuff. You would think that with all of those vampires and werepanthers there that more of the DeLaCruz brothers would have shown up to protect that area. Especially after what was done to the female weres that are now a part of their family.
It was ok but not what I have come to expect from Christine Feehan.

Okay, I just reread the last couple pages. I missed the part about the cub eating, oops. :-)
I guess I'm just surprised at the difference in writing and excitement on this one. Did it seem to you that maybe she just wrote it to get it done with? Like Dark Celebration - out of the past five books, that's been my favorite. So many interesting story lines and fun interaction. And we got to see Mikhail and Raven again, who we haven't seen for a while. Dark Peril was just a little . . . different i guess.
Thanks for your thoughts!

I think what was missing was the interaction between the carpathian people. Zacharius was just really a small part of the story. It would have been nice if the brothers had shown up. I would have liked to hear more about how the prince and his family were doing. It just wasn't as exciting as the other book.
I really thought Jasmine was going to be a stronger heroine but she just seemed wimpy with him. She let him take over completely. He kept saying if she trusted him she would be more girly. What has that got to do with anything?

I loved that Zaccarias had a part in this book,I think the girl injured(Marguaite? cant remember and mum has borrowed my book)by the vampire is Zaccarias lifemate,he felt something when he was healing her. And walking into the sun and it finishes COME ON don't leave me hanging I cant wait for Dark Predator but it is still a year away

I think it was nice to see a gentler and softer side to Solange, I'm glad she got someone to love (after all her hardships)!
But I found myself craving more Zacarias De La Cruz, he seems to have a hidden side that I would love to see more of!!
But yeah the ending was too much of a cliff hanger!!
I hope Dark Predator is Zac's book, he can't wait much longer!!!

Don't get me wrong I liked that she had a softer side. I just didn't expect to see it so soon in the book. For such a strong lone female warrior I expected her to fight her destiny as a lifemate a bit.
I loved him being able to walk in the sun. I am just hoping they can help other carpathians be able to do that. Just think they would be able to be with their children more during the day!

I think the thing that really got me too was how she didnt put up a fight. I mean come on! Its Solange! The bad girl in all the other books, like Natalya or Ivory! i dont think that she had enough of her normal strength in this book. Which is why i didnt like it too much. I love what her blood did and i really like the whole thing about her finding the cub it was cute, especially the way Dominic acted the following morning afterwords (para-phrasing) " Kiss me before that ball of fur awakesand causes mayhem. " <---- Cute

I know. She just was like ok you can take over everything. So not like the kickbutt heroine I thought she would be.

I noticed that too, but she was also prepared to take down her father and die with him. I think she was kind of tired of life in general and so, when Dominic came along, it took a long while for her to change that view. By then, they were so far in I dont think her putting up a fight would have made much different. Plus, I dont think she really wanted to.
But I do see what you mean. At least Ivory didnt lay down and roll over from the start.
