my brother had a friend in school that he grew up with .. he moved to Albequerque before they finished high school, we used to visit him when we went on family vacations, I had such a crush on him and then I found out he liked me too, but it was hard dating so far away. He eventually ended up going into the military after school. He was in the oroginal Operation Desert Storm, and we didn't know where he was or if he was alright. To get a letter to him was almost impossible, but I still wrote to him to let him know I missed him and thought of him often. He finally got to come home when the war was "over" .. but when we went back in he got send back again, and I have not heard anything of him since, I think we just lost contact wth his family, I think my brother might know something of him, he might even be retired or in some type of non-combat position because he is around 46 now. It was hard back when he was in Iran because we didn't have the email access like we do now. It was the good ole snail mail and it took months to reach the soldiers or to get a letter back from them. I think about him now when I hear about all the soldiers that are giong to Iraq and whatnot, I feel sorry for the families that miss their brothers and sisters, wives, husbands, and children.

I remember snail mail days very well! When Z was just born he left for six months and we only had snail mail then. I hate to say it but it was almost better then email. At least then he put some emotion in his letters! He wrote good long letter that I still have today!

See I have done that and all he does is email even less. I guess since he doesn't have any from me he feels why email me! Men!

Men are always like that lol... but eh we love them anyways. And the fact that they are a bit busy with protecting the country... kinda adds to that busy thing lol
