Here's some more:
Vampire Halloween Page 2
Leah continued on, "and no I haven't glued anybody to anything this year. But I might if you do something to annoy me," she said with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh boy," Jesse muttered under his breath. He couldn't stop the flood of memories of all the times she had glued him to something or the other; especially the time she superglued his swimming trunks to him. He still had the scar on the small of his back to prove it. All those memories of laughing and running around in the sun. Then another memory came to his mind. A memory he knew he'd never forget. The memory of that night four months ago when he was forced into an eternity of darkness. Leah spoke up then, bringing him back to reality. "I have this friend I know you would like to meet. I'll go get her." She turned away to go looking for her. Jesse opened his mouth to protest, but she had already disappeared into the crowd. So he just stood there, waiting impatiently for Leah to return with her friend. A minute later she was back with the girl in the Gothic Maiden costume. He still had a niggling feeling that he knew her. "Jesse," Leah started. "This is my best friend, as well as the person you've been emailing since this summer. This here is Sally Caldwell." As soon as Jesse got over his shock about who the girl was, he smiled, showing his fangs and held out his hand to her. "Hi Sally. It's nice to finally meet you in person. I like your costume." Sally had the grace to blush, making her cheeks pink even under the make-up. Her cheeks held his attention for a second or two before she shook his hand. When she touched her hand to his, an electrical zing spead up his arm, making it tingle. He looked at her and saw her blue-green eyes widen, and knew she had felt the same thing. She removed her hand from his and spoke. "Hi, Jesse," she said smiling, showing her straight white teeth.

"It's nice to finally meet you, too. And thanks; I like your vampire costume as well. Those fangs they look almost real," she said. "T'ank vou my dear," he said in a fake Count Dracula voice, making her laugh. "Oh, please," Leah said and rolled her eyes. "I have to finish geeting the guests. So why don't you two either go onto the dance floor, or find a seat before you make me puke all over the floor, okay?" "Sure," both Sally and Jesse said before heading to the benches lining the wall. "So," Jesse said as soon as they sat down. "So," Sally parroted, then went quiet. They didn't talk for a few minutes. Sally bit her lip in a nervous gesture. Suddenly a song came on that she liked. "I love this song," she whispered almost to herself. But Jesse heard it with his keen ears. So he laid his hand on hers, and felt the electrical current run up his arm again. Then he asked, "would you like to dance?" She looked up at him in surprise and nodded, dumbfounded. He took her hand and lead her to the dance floor. They danced in each others arms to the song "Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden. They danced to other songs, fast and slow, for nearly an hour. When they broke apart, Jesse asked if she would go outside with him because it was getting hot in here with all these bodies around. And, because, he thought silently, hearing the blood pumping in their veins was making him thirsty. She said okay and they headed outside. Outside it was cool as they leaned against the railing on the porch. "So Leah told me that you had glasses. Why aren't you wearing them?" Sally started then said, "I do have glasses, but I also have contacts, too. I'm wearing them now because I didn't think glasses would go too well with my costume." She grinned.

After a few minutes Jesse asked, Do you want to ditch this party and go see a movie?" Sally tilted her head and looked at him. "Sure," she said. "The noise in there is almost deafening. Just let me go get my purse." She went back inside and got her mini purse and was heading out again when Leah intercepted her. "And where do you think you're going?" Leah asked. "Jesse asked me to go to a movie with him and I'm going," Sally answered. "Wait a minute," Leah said. "You're going to a movie with Jesse. It's nearly ten o'clock. You aren't going out with him even if you are going just as friends. Your parents let you spend the night with me, so I'm responsible for you. You're not going!" Sally's temper flared. "Who are you to tell me what or what not to do? You don't control me. If I want to go to the movies with Jesse, then you don't have a say in it." She was about to storm past Leah, but Leah grabbed her arm, stopping her. "Your not going," she said. "Yes I am," Sally snapped back. "Just because you like Jesse too, doesn't mean you have to be jealous if he asks me out." "Jealous!" Leah said impatiently. "I am not jealous. I just don't want you to go out with him." Yeah, right," Sally said sarcastically, yanking her arm free. Leah just caught it again. Sally pushed her away, knocking her into other people. "Hey!" someone said. "Watch it!" said someone else. "Alright," Leah said angerly. "No more miss nice girl," and pushed Sally back. The crowd gathered around and shouted, "Fight! Fight! Fight!" while Sally and Leah tugged at each others hair, and slapped and kicked. Jesse broke through the crowd and tugged Leah off Sally, holding them away from each other. Leah hit Jesse in the stomach with her elbow. "This is none of your business," she snapped. Jesse gasped in pain and doubled over. But he was back up quickly, pushing Leah out of the way. He put his arm around Sally's waist to lead her outside. As they passed Leah, Jesse leaned over and whispered in her ear, "if you ever hurt Sally again, you will regret it," he hissed. When they got outside, Jesse touched Sally's shoulder and asked, "Are you okay?" Sally took a deep breath to disperse her anger. Then she looked up at him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's just go," she said. Jesse hooked her arm through his and lead her down two blocks to the 24-hour matinee theater. There were only two movies playing, old ones at that. They were "American werewolf in Paris" and "Stephen King's: Salem's Lot." Jesse bought two tickets to "Salem's Lot" and lead Sally inside. They sat in the back row where it was darkest. As they watched the vampires rip out people throats, Sally put her head in Jesse's shoulder to keep from seeing what was happening. Jesse wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.

Then he caught her chin in his hand and lifted her head, then slowly lowered his head. Gently, almost reverently, he kissed her lips, then he deepened the kiss. Sally's breath caught in her throat for a moment, then she kissed him back. Jesse left her mouth to nuzzle her neck. He found the soft spot beneath her ear where her pulse pounded like a drum and kissed it. Sally trembled. Jesse felt his fangs lengthen. He lifted his head and looked her in the eyes, hypnotizing her. He lowered his head again and punctured her throat. Sweet. She was so sweet, Jesse thought as her blood was sucked up through his hollow fangs. Her soul was sweet as well as her blood, and he knew, he knew, he would make her like him; a vampire for eternity. Jesse had never made a vampire before, but some ancient instinct deep inside him told him what to do. He sucked her blood until even in her hypnotic state her breathing grew shallow. Then he reluctantly licked over the wound to close it. He then ripped a cut in his wrist with his teeth and lifted it to her mouth. "Drink, my love. Drink, so that you can awaken and be with me," Jesse murmured the complusion and Sally moved her lips against his wrist, sucking hungerly. After a few minutes, he took his wrist away from her mouth, ignoring her hungry whimper, and closed his wound. "Sally," he spoke in a deep, hourse voice. Sally blinked and shook her head, clearing her mind. She looked coyly up at him and said, "I think our kiss just transported me into space." She grinned. Jesse took her hand and stood up. "Com'n. Let's go take a walk," he said and lead her outside. They walked to the darkened park in the middle of town and sat down on a bench beneath a street lamp. There, Jesse proceeded to tell Sally what he had done to her. After a thoughtful silence, Sally said that she understood. "I've always wondered what it would be like to be a vampire. Now I have the chance." "You mean you're not angry?" Jesse exclaimed, amazed. "No, I'm not," she said and cuddled against him. "I'd be happy to go through eternity with you. Even though I'm not exactly sure about the drinking blood part." "It'll be okay," he said and hugged her close. They stayed on that bench, talking and stealing kisses every once in a while, until the sun started to rise on the horizon. Then he took her to the hotel where he was staying.
