Awesome! Could we post something that isn't exactly a short story, but a story in progress?

I would suggest, though, posting the stories by page. You know, if you wrote a story that's say, 4 college rule pages long, then post one page at a time. You get what I'm saying? Anyway I'm posting my first page from my first story on here a few minutes from now.

Vampire Halloween Page 1
It was a dark night in the little town of Desert City. There were no lights on anywhere in the town, except for the sidewalk lamps, which were dim and fading. Yet ther was the sound of music in the air. It came from the Halloween party Leah Hadar was having. A stranger was in the shadows of a building watching the teenagers walking down the street towards the party. As one group passed him, his eyes locked onto a girl who was dressed up in a Gothic Maiden costume. To him she seemed familiar, yet not. He slipped silently out of the shadows and into the group where he could study the girl closer. She was pale in the face, but that was probably because she had on make-up. He could tell the black hair was a wig, because a few independent strands of her real hair were sticking out from under the lining. The stranger followed the group inside the party. Once inside, one of the girls by the door came up to him. She was in a Biker Chick costume, but he recognized her nonetheless. "Leah Hadar! It's good to see you again. After four years, you've changed alot, but I bet your personality's still the same. So, tell me, have you super-glued anybody to anything this year?" he said with a teasing grin. "It's nice to see you, too, Jesse Ramsay," Leah said pleasently. "And to answer you question. Yes I'm still the same goofy, silly person you knew four years ago. But I'm a little more serious now." Yeah, right! Like you could ever be serious, Jesse thought, but didn't say a word.
To be continued later........................................................

Nice Corrine. Let us know when you have more. Here is mine. I just whipped it up about ten minutes ago so it is not that good.
Brianna Markham watched as the ship slowly rolled into port. She couldn’t believe it was finally back after its long cruise to the Mediteranian and with it was her husband. The man she had only been married to for a week before the ship left. She was nervous and scared and excited all at once. She knew she had changed in the last six months. Grown more independent and stronger while living on her own for the first time. She wondered if Nate had changed as much while he was gone. She was also worried about how he would react to the news that they would be parents in a little less than three months.
9 Months earlier.
Brianna was in a hurry. She had to get to work on time or she was probably going to get fired. She had missed a lot of work lately trying to take care of her mother during her chemotherapy. It was hard watching her go through this and not really be able to help her. She needed this job to help pay the bills while her mom was on disability. Luckily her mother only had three more rounds of chemo to go before she would, hopefully, be cancer free. She was in such a hurry that she was not paying attention when she rounded the corner by the store she worked at.
“Hmmph” she said as she knocked into what felt like a solid wall. She knew it wasn’t a wall because it said “Whoa” as the man she had run into caught before she fell flat on her rear end.
“I’m so sorry. I was in a hurry and did not see you.” Brianna slowly looked up at the man that she had run into. Talk about good-looking. He was tall, at least over 6ft, had beautiful blue eyes, and dark military cut hair. She knew she was staring but she could not help it. She did notice he was staring back just as hard.
Nate Markham looked down at the woman he held in his arms. She was not quite beautiful but something about her drew him to her. She was average height, with long brunette hair, and her eyes were a beautiful hazel color. He finally realized that he was holding a complete stranger in his arms in the middle of the mall. He slowly let her go and asked her is she was alright.
“Yes. Thank you for catching me.” Brianna slowly smiled at the stranger.
Wow her smile made her whole face light up. As he looked into her eyes he thought he saw a hint of sadness. He wondered what made someone so young so sad.
“You’re welcome. I’m Nate.” He reached out and shook her hand. She had lovely soft skin. Nate wondered if her whole body was that soft. He would like to find out one day.
“I’m Brianna. It’s nice to meet you Nate.” Brianna noticed the clock on the wall behind Nate and knew that if she did not get going she would be late for work. She really wanted to stay and find out about the handsome stranger but knew she had to hurry to work.

awesome!
Here's some of a work in progress. I've recently began doing it, deciding I'd try a paranormal romance myself.
Heather Mackey stared up into the glittering night sky. The view was breath-taking. She was quite sure that she had never seen so many stars, even though the moon was a full glowing ball of mystery. As she gazed, the thought occured to her that this was a magical night. It was exactly the type of night one could imagine a wizard snaring a girl in his spell, a shapeshifter slinking through the shadows, a werewolf running wild and free.... or a vampire soaring through the heavens in search of prey.
She smiled, laughing at herself for thinking that it would not be at all distasteful to play blood doner to a sensual male vampire.
Her soft, musical laughter eched back to her from the surrounding mountains. "Oh, I really havea been reading too many Paranormal Romances," she admonished herself happily.

Genearlly children tend to be scared of needles, monsters, and blood loss.... thus they are terified of Vampires.
This child was most likely no different from the rest. The Summoned Vampire would find no sustance there.
Demitri smiled, imagining all the other Vampires in the area hoping the would not be Summoned.
At the start of a Summoning, every vampire within a 205 mile radius can hear the Giftling's Summons until one vampire in particular is named. Thereafter, there is a private path opened between Giftling and Vampire; only they can hear the rest of the Summons. However, if the Summoner is in trouble and asking for help, all will hear loudly and clearly.
Demitri sighed adn shook his head, grinning ammused annoyance as the Giftling was silent and only the buzzing met his ears.
Finally the words came again, and Demitir's grin slid into a distressed frown.
"Come to me, bzzz, Demitri," his heart sunk and he groaned. It was HIM. The poor blood sucker was HIM!
After teh utterance of his name, her voice grew louder, steadier, stronger, and clearer.
"Come to me, and never leave my side!"
He was being Summoned-an inexperenced Companion Call. The Giftling Summoner wasn't a child-no she was a young woman.
He wondered if she even knew what she had done.
